*A NOTE ABOUT SWITCHING TO NATURAL DEODORANT*
Congratulations! You're taking control of your health and questioning the chemical antiperspirant goo! Here are a few things you should know about my natural deodorants:
UNFILTERED is proud to offer cream-based deodorants that actually work. If you're just making the switch to natural, you may notice a 'detox period'. Your underarms are readjusting, filtering out toxins, and getting back on track. During this process, you may perspire more than you usually would (especially if you've been using antiperspirants), which means you may stink more than normal. It is temporary (most people report it lasting 1-2 weeks). I recommend making the swap when you have time to wash more often and wear loose fitting, breathable clothes.
All of UNFILTERED's deodorants feature arrowroot powder to absorb moisture, and bentonite clay to aid in detoxifying underarms.
Baking soda has amazing deodorizing effects. You may have noticed this when using it for cleaning or keeping your fridge clean. While it is incredibly effective, some people are sensitive to baking soda and may notice rash, bumps, redness, or scaling. If this happens, please gently cleanse the product from underarms. Apply a solution of diluted apple cider vinegar to underarms (1 part ACV to 4 parts warm water). Allow to dry on skin. Apple Cider Vinegar will neutralize the baking soda. Moisturize the underarms with the Body Balm or Hair+Body Oil (the chamomile really helps soothe!). I recommend starting with our sensitive skin formula which does not contain baking soda. As your armpits adjust to natural deodorant, you can start to incorporate our original formula deodorants.
As someone who does experience sensitivity to baking soda, I formulate UNFILTERED deodorants with as little baking soda as possible while still being ultra-effective. Please reach out to me if you have further questions.
